The Green Beautiful (movie)

The Green Beautiful is a 1996 French film directed by Coline Serreau. It is a comedy with a philosophical background.

I saw this film just some days ago and it touched my heart. I think it is very intelligent, gives us an incredible point of view of the society, totally different and unique from those that we have met elsewhere.

Synopsis: The movie opens on an utopian planet, where human-like aliens live in a total harmony with Nature. Each year, they send some people to other planets, in order to learn or teach something. Yet since two centuries, nobody wants to go to Earth anymore. Suddenly, a woman goes to. Then she arrives in Paris...

First, this movie is played by excellent actors and its idea, from the beginning, is really pleasant.

The story is full of jokes making you wondering. Example: the main character enters to a church and sees a crucifix. She exclaims: "Oh, wait... I know him... He's with us... That's the nice guy we sent two thousands years ago to help them... He's Jesus... Crucified, damn..."

The script is simple but pretty effective, which will please you as it pleased me.

I could tell you all the qualities of this movie, but it would take so much time!
